***********************************************
The
Disability Resource Center of Fairfield County is a cross-disability
resource and advocacy organization for people with
disabilities.
Its
basic values are 1. Consumer primacy; 2. empowerment; and 3. a belief
that the problems of disability are located in society, not in the
individual.
Thus,
the work of Centers for Independent Living is directed primarily at
advocating for the removal of physical and psychological barriers and
assisting consumers in dealing with those barriers.

RESTORATION AND DEMONSTRATION CENTER SATELLITE OFFICE
The new center is located at
80 Ferry Blvd, Suite 210, Stratford, CT
The New England Assistive Technology (NEAT) Center has opened a satellite facility in collaboration with the Disability Resource Center of Fairfield County. NEAT has received start-up funding from the Connecticut Tech Act Project to expand its durable medical equipment reutilization program and assistive technology demonstration program to the southwestern region of Connecticut. The establishment of this new satellite will now allow individuals with disabilities, their families and the professionals that serve them, local availability to the services of NEAT. A variety of restored durable medical equipment and assistive technology devices will be available at the new NEAT/DRCFC Center to consumers who can come in, try it out, and make an informed decision regarding their medical equipment and assistive technology needs. Restored durable medical equipment will be available for purchase at significantly reduced prices. This new satellite office will also serve as a drop-off point for donations of no longer needed assistive technology and durable medical equipment. For more information,
